March Change for Change: Rosenberg Fund for Children

Our March Change for Change recipient is the Rosenberg Fund for Children of Easthampton, MA.

Based in Easthampton, the Rosenberg Fund for Children (RFC) provides for the educational and emotional needs of children whose parents have faced targeting for their progressive activism and therefore are no longer able to provide fully for their children. The RFC also provides grants for the educational and emotional needs of targeted activist youth.

Since our founding in 1990, the RFC has awarded more than $8 million to benefit thousands of children in Massachusetts and across the U.S. whose parents have been targeted because of their involvement in progressive movements, such as preserving civil liberties, waging peace, safeguarding the environment, combating racism and homophobia, and organizing on behalf of workers, prisoners, immigrants and others whose human rights are under threat.

The RFC’s grants help ensure activist youth and children of targeted activist parents can attend summer camp, hire tutors, receive therapy, attend dance programs (or participate in other activities that allow them to have fun), process their experiences, and heal. These funds make it possible for kids to not only survive but thrive, despite the repression their family has experienced.
