June Change for Change Recipient: Out Now

As the only queer youth organization in Springfield, Out Now provides a safe space for queer youth and allies to learn about themselves, develop leadership skills, explore the history of the LGBTQ movement and much more.

Out Now originated in 1995 as a weekly support group for LGBTQ youth from the greater Springfield, Massachusetts area. In the beginning, there was one advisor and no more than five young people regularly attending weekly meetings held in a donated church space.

Since then, Out Now has become a non-profit organization, grown its youth membership, added advisors and increased visibility. They have become a crucially important voice in the local movement for peace, justice and equity.

You can visit Out Now's official website here... and be sure to follow them on Facebook, too!
