This hour-long yoga practice is appropriate for all women at any stage of their menopause journey and with any level of previous movement experience and ability. This is a series of two classes that will work as stand-alone practices individually or will complement each other if taken together.
Yoga can be a powerful tool to help alleviate anxiety, and it can provide a way to keep our bodies mobile as we age. Practicing yoga reminds us that self-care is not a luxury, and there are great benefits to giving ourselves some time away from the stressful and/or demanding parts of life. With breath, movement, and then stillness, we can learn to listen and respond to what our bodies have to say so we can be more intuitive to our physical, mental, and emotional needs. There are real quantifiable results when we integrate yoga into our lives!
We will explore the powerful tools that yoga can offer as our body begins, enters, and completes its menopausal transitions. Through a gentle vinyasa flow practice, we will touch upon the importance of playing and pleasure. We will experience using our own bodies to strengthen and increase mobility in our muscles and joints which then supports our bone density. Our practice will include self-relaxation exercises and breathing techniques which emphasize the importance of developing a nurturing relationship with our own bodies. We will finish our practice with a few restorative poses and some moments of deep rest.

We also ask that you please keep the following in mind ahead of the scheduled workshop date:
- Please bring a mat to the class.
- We will have a limited number of mats available for anyone who needs a yoga mat to participate. Please let us know in the comments on the registration page if you will need a mat.
- Optional but beneficial props: yoga strap and/or hand towel, a beach towel, or a yoga blanket.
- You will receive an email from Reka Peterson confirming your registration and spot in the class.
- If your plans change and you won't be able to participate in the class for any reason, please notify Reka by responding to the registration confirmation email or sending an email to rpeterson@rivervalley.coop
- Space is limited, so we will have a waiting list.
ABOUT KRISTINA MOSE-LIBON
Kristina Mose-Libon started teaching yoga in 2016 at the age of 60. She has taught over 1000 hours of yoga. Kristina’s teaching background and certifications include Yoga for the Stages of Menopause with yinstinct yoga, power yoga, yin & yoga nidra, kids yoga, and chair yoga. She is currently completing her advanced training in Yoga Therapy with Yoga on the Vine. Kristina is passionate about providing yoga experiences to as many people as possible, but in particular, she enjoys supporting women during the stages of hormonal transitions.
