Square Foot Gardening is a comprehensive no-till organic gardening method, designed to grow more in less space with a simple formula: permanent beds, permanent pathways, perfect soil, grid planting and using a simple trellis for many garden vegetables.

We will trace a bit of history from a century ago when the French Intensive Method was born in the market gardens around Paris and how it has changed gardening to a craft rather than “Farming Lite” using the same method as farmers but on a smaller scale. I will demonstrate how to plan your garden to get a steady supply of produce from your garden with succession planting, and I will add to this my experience using the method since 1981 when the book Square Foot Gardening by Mel Bartholomew was first published. Lastly, we will discuss recipe gardens, designed with specific recipes to make and store for the pantry. At the end of the webinar we will have a Q&A session.
