ABOUT ERIN SCHIFFERLI
Erin has always enjoyed observing food grow. As a girl she planted summer squash on her neighbor’s farm. Guided by her aunt’s recipe, she would bake zucchini bread to share with family and wonder at the transformation from seed to fruit, and finally, bread shared at the table joyfully.
Whole real food that is non-toxic, and pesticide free offers our whole-selves nourishment. The action of eating is part of daily life. When we eat well, the ripples of those choices affect every aspect of life on the planet. As humans we can cultivate a conscious connection with the act of nourishment, especially when we consume food mindfully. Knowing where our food comes from and how it was grown empowers our decision-making process.
Within her holistic private practice Erin encourages all people to focus on more than “what” they eat. By examining and better understanding the where, when, why, and how surrounding food choices people can balance their relationship with food and meal instances. Utilizing realistic methods, offering pragmatic tools, stress management, meal plans, and recipes that fit real lifestyles, Erin offers direct support for people. Fostering a healthy connection with food and mealtime allows space for deep and satisfying nourishment.
Erin has been a practicing Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2006 and founded her private practice, Schifferli Works, LLC in 2008. She has experience working clinically in hospitals, community nutrition education working with Cornell Cooperative Extension developing and teaching nutrition education programs throughout WNY, collaborating with corporate and school nutrition and wellness programs, and has volunteered in schools, colleges, non-profits, markets, and at local independent wellness fairs. She currently works with incarcerated individuals at the Hampshire Sheriff’s Office and House of Corrections in Northampton, MA, within the Wellness Program, offering both nutrition education and yoga programming.
Erin has professional experience with many nutrition-related issues including: diabetes, gestational diabetes, pregnancy nutrition, fertility nutrition, lactation nutrition, pediatric nutrition, disordered or dysfunctional eating, emotional eating, heart disease, overweight and obesity, cancer and recovery, autism spectrum disorder, neurodivergence and cognitive functioning, mental health (including anxiety and depression), teen athletes / sports nutrition, and mindful eating. She enjoys field trips with clients, `groups`, and organizations such as grocery store tours, farm tours, and nature experiences.
Food connects. It nourishes deeply, and when we choose our food with consciousness, that supports balance and harmony for a healthier world.
