Meditation Series: Day-to-Day Dharma
The teachings of Buddhism, known as the Dharma, are meant to be simple, vibrant, and easily implemented instructions for life. The Buddha's teachings were made available to all, and he taught that alleviating suffering and enlightenment was attainable for all.
So why does Buddhism often feel so esoteric? Consider the centuries after Buddha's living example, where these teachings are written down, studied, discoursed over, rewritten, translated by scholars, and studied academically. What we are often left with is a stuffy old text that seems unrelatable.
This series aims to breathe life back into the Dharma that creates a framework for more ease, connection, and mindfulness in the day-to-day. Each session will cover a bit of history for context, illuminate key teachings of Buddhism, offer a simple meditation technique, and explore how we can integrate the teachings and meditation into daily life. The sessions do not need to be taken as a series but will build on one another for those that would like to attend all sequentially.

The Four Abodes
Give someone an elevator pitch for Buddhism, and they may say the following:
"Let me get this straight: Life is suffering, we understand suffering, we eliminate it... but you're telling me to do that with a wide-open heart? Not possible."
Hopefully, you can catch them in the elevator on the way back down, so you can tell them about the Four Abodes. These are teachings and practices on how to keep the mind/heart in balance, and beautifully open, despite the apparent risk within an untethered world.
