ABOUT BLANCHE CYBELE DERBY
Known in the community as the "Wild Weed Woman," Blanche has been foraging and incorporating wild foods into her diet since her teens. In the 1970s, she met author Ben Charles Harris, an authority on foraging who became her mentor shortly thereafter. He encouraged her to lecture and lead walks all around New England, which she has done for many years since.
Blanche has written and illustrated three books on wild plants, developed numerous recipes, produced three hour-long films, and published over 75 videos on YouTube. In addition, she is a frequent contributor to the Greenfield Recorder and writes articles for its quarterly special section, Healthy Life.
