How do we help children develop into self-sufficient, conscientious adults? It doesn't happen by magic; it takes intention. Let’s explore the shifts in our parenting and home routines that can create opportunities for kids to practice these essential skills. We'll also look at the research and mindsets that support this approach.
ABOUT CASTLE O'NEILL
Castle O'Neill is committed to raising a generation of resilient, joyful children ready to take on a changing world. Believing that children thrive when the adults around them thrive, she works as a parent coach and a school coach and consultant.
Castle has worked in education (mostly Montessori) as a teacher, teacher trainer, head of school and parent advocate. A change maker at heart, she's founded three schools and coached multiple individuals through the process of starting, managing, and nurturing a school. Castle was an early leader within the innovative Wildflower micro-school network that emerged from the MIT Media Lab in 2014.
In supporting adults, Castle draws from Montessori, RIE, responsive parenting, and an anti-racist lens. The mother of three adults and a new grandmother, Castle lives in Amherst, Massachusetts with her husband, turtle, and a very large vegetable garden.
