ABOUT SARAH BERQUIST

Sarah is a small-scale flower farmer and educator based in Hadley, MA. She teaches, advises, and provides leadership for Sustainable Food & Farming at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst.  Over the last year, she has built a floral design program, Stockbridge Floral Design, where students design arrangements with local flowers for the campus community.

Her approach to teaching is student-centered, participatory, emergent, inclusive, and experiential. She loves to create and hold spaces, both for students and community members, where learning flows in all directions. Beyond her work at UMass: she runs a small floral production and design side hustle, and also loves practicing dance and swimming.
