In our Effervescent Aging Series, we focus on different aspects of health through active engagement in exercises demonstrated by Amy. Each class will have a different focus. Instruction will include information about alignment, form and the benefit of each activity/exercise.

This class is designed to strengthen your body, support your stability/ balance and relieve pain, while increasing your body awareness.
 

 



ABOUT AMY DAWN KOTEL

Amy Dawn Kotel has been studying and teaching dance and fitness since the mid-1990s. She is a body-positive, all-age-inclusive, amusing, kind, and supportive trainer, responsive to her clients' needs and goals.

Working with clients of all ages and abilities, Amy's specialties include clients ages 45-100, those who have been injured and have the ok from their doctors to resume exercise, postpartum mamas, and fitness-phobes. Amy tunes into her clients, co-creating workouts that gently, joyfully,  and safely push them to their personal fitness edge. She does this all while sharing all her health /fitness knowledge, so they can find some autonomy for their health and fitness future. Education, Certification, and Training

In addition to my over 25 years of experience in fitness and dance, I hold numerous certifications from various disciplines that will help me create a workout that is JUST RIGHT FOR YOU!

  • Through my Master’s degree in Education from Lesley University, I learned how to tailor workouts based on different learning styles. 

  • I minored in Dance for my undergraduate degree from SUNY New Paltz, NY

  • I am certified K-12 in dance through the Department of Education in Massachusetts.

  • I have been certified through Holyoke Community College and AFFA as a Personal Fitness Trainer.

  • I am certified in  Barre Fitness, TRX, Pilates Mat, Active Older Adult Fitness, Aqua Aerobics, K-12 Dance, Ageless, Qi Gong-infused Yoga, and Group Fitness Instruction while specializing in Myofascial Release Rolling, conscious eating and body awareness. 

  • I believe life-long learning is essential for my own growth as well as the growth of my clients. 

  • In addition to everything above, I hope you will want to work with me because we will have a whole lot of FUN!!! I get this over and over from the humans I am blessed enough to work with. People laugh when we work together.
