The artworks in this exhibit stem from a series named Faces of Love, begun in 2002.

Benoit became a professional artist in 1970 when he sold three artworks on opening night in a group exhibit at Dimensions Art Gallery in Westwood Massachusetts.

Self-taught, Benoit has explored various media including Acrylic on canvas, Enamel on Plexiglas, Rustic Woodworking and mixed media. Currently working on variations for Faces of Love, and the interplay of the heart shape, words and the facial representations that result.

During the 1980s Benoit taught art in the Philadelphia City Prisons. He was also the Preparator of the Smith college Museum of Art 1974-77
