Saturday, 8/16/2025
Our Art in the Café program in Northampton for August 2025 is Tiny Treasures: A Closer Look at our Valuable Neighborhood Creatures by Renee Hill!
Come and get an up close and personal view of some of the little creatures that share our world. Renee Hill's macro photography will open your eyes to the details of things you may have never seen - even in your own backyard!
About the Artist
Renee Hill's journey started many years ago after seeing a very up-close photo of a jumping spider online. Intrigued by macro photography and inspired by the natural world, Renee decided on pursuing these types of photos – but first needed to overcome a severe case of arachnophobia in order to get close and capture the right shots. After a few years, Renee was able to desensitize bit-by-bit, and even held a tarantula as a grand finale to the adventure!
Today, practicing macro photography regularly is Renee Hill's passion. Renee love hunting through the yard or the woods, looking for creatures to photograph. It's amazing what you see when you pause and look, really closely, at the world around you!
